2024 recap: summer of sequins and autumn of studs

Hey girls!! Can you believe this year is already drawing to a close? It felt like summer was just yesterday.

It's been a crazy year, and even more exciting summer. Euro summer officially took over our feeds, with Keinemusik and Aperol Spritz's making constant appearances. Through Mykonos sunsets and Ibiza parties though, there was one trend that shone through like no other: sequin outfits.

Sequins were officially this summer's hottest thing. From mini dresses to tanks, we just couldn't get enough of them. And who can blame us? Their metallic reflection catches your eye and looks especially stunning at night in G7X flash photos. The presence of sequins elevates and adds character to any outfit, and complements jewelry as well.

Girls made statements in their sequin outfits this year, embracing bold colors like red and coral and pulling off matching sequin sets. They incorporated sequin wrap skirts into day outfits, and changed into sequin maxi dresses for the evening.

One honorable mention in the wave of sequin popularity is the Guizio mini skirt. Yes, the brand known for their $128 black mini skirt (we have yet to try!). It comes in lots of styles and colors, but the classic one is perfect to pair with even the most basic of tops. The sequin truly does wonders!

Autumn of studs

Naturally, after being sequin obsessed in summer, we turned to studs as a fall appropriate alternative. We put them on jackets, boots, and everything in between. Aligning with the autumn color palette, we paired earthy tones like burgundy, burnt oranges, browns, and beiges with our studded pieces!

Studs brought a rebellious and almost rock style side out of us, and we loved it. We swapped our typical sweater mini skirt and black boot combo for the leather jacket micro shorts and studded boots, and embraced the trend with full confidence.

Micro shorts also made a huge impression this fall! From leather to sparkly shorts, we opted for the shortest length and served looks all season long.
